I work with emotion-focused couple therapy (EFT). This is a systematic, researched and empirically validated method that is highly effective in helping couples in emotional distress. It focuses on identifying and changing negative communication cycles in a relationship. At the same time the emotional bond between partners is strengthened. The approach is structured and process oriented.

Self-compassion and compassion towards others is strongly associated with mental well-being. In Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) we use exercises to strengthen compassion and to reduce negative feelings (such anxiety, anger, shame), as well as self-critical thinking.

Mental health of expats can be quite fragile. I have been working with people with mental health problems from various cultural backgrounds for many years. Thereby I can also draw on my own “expat experience” as a Swiss person who has lived and worked in the UK, the Netherlands and Germany.
-
Highly sensitive individuals perceive internal and external stimuli more deeply. They respond stronger to smells, sounds, and moods of other people. I offer counseling for high sensitivity individuals supporting them with day-to-day life, work situations and family matters (partner relationship, parenthood).
